This has been a crazy semester for me. With all the stress and running around I was doing my diet got really bad. I kept forgetting to buy groceries, on top of never knowing what to eat and hating my cooking (im going through a phase right now) so just to get something in my belly I would eat shitty school food that wasnt vegetarian or vegan. we actually dont have many options at my school.
For a while it felt good to just eat. Overall I was pretty strict about being vegetarian this past year. This past month or so I’ve been eating and drinking things like soda and juice and fish that I hadn’t had in a loooong time.
So after eating meat again, I don’t really like it anymore. In the past year I would take a bite of meat to taste it if someone made it or ordered it, but eating an actual meal with meat is different. It’s heavy, it makes my tummy hurt, and meat has this aftertaste that i dont like. So its kinda cool cuz its confirming that the whole veg/vegan lifestyle is really something I want by choice.
Its not that hard to leave meat behind. I dont care about. Chocolate and soda? thats different. I had been eating chocolate this whole time but i stayed away from mainstream candy bars like snickers because it wasnt good and it hurt my stomach. with halloween, kit kat bars somehow tasted good and so did milky ways and snickers. I’m pretty sure its out of my system now (i bought a kit kat this week and it didnt taste good). i bought a soda like a week or two ago and it didnt really taste all that either, but all of this reminded me about how bad my sweet tooth can get. I dont want any of those things anymore but my body is really looking for sugar now.
i’m gonna have to detox from all the bullshit and do more baking when i want something now. Craving sweets all the time is actually pretty annoying. and i dont want to be craving all that junk food anyway. doesnt do anything good for my body.
Anonymous asked: Saw your post about getting tired of being vegetarian. Recipes do tend to get monotonous, so I watch the food network for inspiration. I just veganize the recipe! It added a lot of choices to my meals! Also, try new recipes you wouldn't normally eat at least once a week! Hope this helps.
That’s a really good idea. I’m going to try that. Thanks!
